On March 24, 2012, 22-year-old African American male Timothy Scott was fatally shot in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the city's South Side, a region that has historically experienced high rates of gun violence. According to reports, Timothy Scott was standing outside a residence when an unidentified assailant approached and opened fire, striking him multiple times. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
