On July 24, 2016, 20-year-old Hispanic male Jesus Martinez Jr. was fatally shot in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 54th Street. According to reports, Jesus Martinez Jr. was standing outside with a group of people when an unidentified assailant approached and opened fire. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
