Kimberly L. Harris, aged 25, was fatally shot on April 15, 2012, in Chicago's East Garfield Park neighborhood. The circumstances of her death were connected to her role as a witness in a previous homicide. Kimberly had previously survived an attack in which her boyfriend, Keith Sluggs, was killed. She had testified before a grand jury as the sole witness to his murder.
