Samuel Walker Jr., aged 13, was tragically killed in a shooting on July 25, 2014, on Chicago's West Side in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. The incident, which also left six others injured, occurred during a summer marked by violence in Chicago. Samuel, known as "Lil' Sam," was remembered by his community as a cheerful, caring young boy who always made people laugh.
