Special Agent Larry E. Boles of the Union Pacific Railroad Police Department was tragically killed in the line of duty on July 9, 1977, in downtown Denver, Colorado. The incident occurred when Agent Boles interrupted a burglary in progress at the Union Pacific rail yards.
