On May 23, 1992, Clarence Smith, a 43-year-old African American male, was found dead in Denver, Colorado. He was discovered in the tall grass of an alley between Franklin and Humboldt Streets, near East 25th Avenue, behind a vacant house. Smith was not alone; he was found alongside his friend and drinking buddy, James Austin, who also succumbed to the same violent fate. Both men had been shot to death.
