Tyler Ellis, a 15-year-old boy, was shot on December 28, 2014, in Chicago's Altgeld Gardens neighborhood. The incident took place around 7:50 p.m. in the 600 block of East 133rd Street. Ellis was critically injured after being shot six times, following what began as a fistfight. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries 10 days later.
