Late on the morning of May 21, 2015, the quiet of South Chicago broke under the weight of a single, devastating act. Police found a 33-year-old Black male, publicly identified as Ramon A. Gartman, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the face in the 8400 block of South Commercial Avenue at 11:48 a.m.
