On April 2, 2019, Eric Apisa, a 19-year-old resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred under tragic and unexpected circumstances, as Apisa was shot and killed by his best friend, Zachary Hammond, who was 18 years old at the time.
