Murdered

A man died of his wounds after he was shot Friday evening in Phoenix, police said.

Phoenix police responded to a shots-fired call near Roeser Road and Cody Drive around 5:30 p.m., where they discovered Hector Holguin, 50, shot and lying in the roadway, department spokesman Steve Martos said.

Holguin was rushed to a hospital by Phoenix fire officials and died hours later, according to Martos.
