On April 19, 2021, a tragic incident unfolded in southwest Albuquerque, New Mexico, resulting in the deaths of 22-year-old Anthony Vigil and 16-year-old Ali Assad. The events began with an argument between Manuel Perez and Anthony Vigil over a gun. This altercation escalated when Perez spotted Vigil in his vehicle at the intersection of 98th and Gibson. A high-speed chase ensued as Perez pursued Vigil's car, during which Perez fired shots at the vehicle.
