On January 28, 2022, Anjel Varela, a 30-year-old resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was found shot to death in the driver's seat of his vehicle. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Skyline apartments, located at 1200 Louisiana Blvd. N.E. in Albuquerque. The circumstances surrounding Varela's death were tied to a premeditated robbery involving a drug transaction.
