In the late morning of March 4, 2022, a dispute between teenagers in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, turned deadly, leaving 16-year-old male Josue Jay Ruiz dead from a gunshot wound. The fatal encounter took place in an alley near 5th and Central, where police responded to reports of shots fired around 11:20 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ruiz's body.
