On October 1, 2016, Naome Zuber, a 17-year-old student from Curie High School, was tragically killed by a stray bullet while riding in a vehicle in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago. Naome was on her way to a birthday party with friends when the shooting occurred. A masked gunman fired from the sidewalk, fatally striking her in the head.
