On March 6, 1957, Virginia Cook, a 39-year-old woman from Phoenix, Arizona, was tragically shot and killed by her ex-husband, Lonnie Craft. The incident occurred at Sublett's Cafe, located in the 1600 block of East Washington Street, where Virginia was employed at the Dispatch Laundry across the street.
