On March 3, 2023, in Houston, Texas, 55-year-old Laura Marie "Rabbit" Sherrard and her 16-year-old son, Alexander Conroy "Bunny" Sherrard, were tragically killed in a murder-suicide perpetrated by Laura's husband, Paul Rubin, aged 64. The incident occurred in their residence on Indigo Street in the Meyerland area. Laura had placed a distress call to 911, during which the dispatcher overheard an argument followed by gunshots.
