On December 5, 2023, Lauren Short, aged 30, was tragically killed alongside her mother, Katherine Short, 56, in their home on Austral Loop in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred during a series of violent events spanning from San Antonio to Austin, allegedly perpetrated by 34-year-old Shane James.
