Willie Cooper, aged 58, was fatally shot on July 15, 2017, in the Far South Side of Chicago, near the nonprofit he ran, Lilydale Outreach Workers for a Better Community. Cooper was a well-known community activist who dedicated his life to helping at-risk youth by providing jobs and support services.
