On September 15, 2017, Ida Arvizu, age 28, was killed in a mass shooting in the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago. The tragic event occurred around 8:35 p.m., when police responded to reports of multiple gunshots on South Fairfield Avenue. Arvizu, who was seven months pregnant, was found shot to death in a bullet-riddled sedan alongside three others: Joel Sandoval, age 24, Miguel Sandoval, age 27, and Michelle Cano, age 21.
