On October 7, 2023, 23-year-old Corey "YG Corey" McLawyer tragically lost his life to gun violence in Memphis, Tennessee. His passing was publicly announced by Superior Funeral Home McLemore Chapel, which handled his funeral arrangements. A visitation was held on October 19, 2023, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service the same day. Interment took place at Memorial Park Cemetery-Poplar in Memphis.
