On July 1, 2024, Gary Newman, aged 66, and his daughter, 28-year-old Anthonese "Niecy" Stewart, were fatally shot in their Memphis, Tennessee home. The incident occurred in the 7600 block of Newfound Gap Road near East Shelby Drive in the Pinnacle Point neighborhood.
