On April 12, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., 17-year-old Kaleb Brown was found deceased from a gunshot wound in the backyard of a residence on Boswell Road in east Charlotte, North Carolina. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) launched a homicide investigation, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect on April 23, 2024. This individual was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Subsequently, CMPD identified 18-year-old Terrance Cordell McKnight Jr. as an additional suspect. McKnight was considered armed and dangerous, prompting a public appeal for assistance in locating him. He was apprehended on May 24, 2024, and charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
