On a Thursday evening in southwest Atlanta, 36-year-old Nathan Adams, a Black male, was fatally shot on November 5, 2015. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 30-year-old Justin Hilliard, unfolded on Daniel Drive. Atlanta police officers responded to a call of shots fired around 7:15 p.m. and discovered Adams at the scene, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Hilliard was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators believe Adams and Hilliard, who were in separate vehicles, had arranged to meet with a third vehicle. Two men reportedly exited this third, dark-colored car and opened fire on both victims. A surveillance camera from a nearby residence captured the moments after the shooting, showing the suspects' vehicle leaving the scene. In the footage, one of the victims can be seen moving toward the house, seemingly in an attempt to get help, before collapsing.
Despite the investigation and the available surveillance footage, no arrests have been announced in connection with the murders of Nathan Adams and Justin Hilliard. The Atlanta Police Department has not publicly identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to seek information from the public to resolve the double homicide.
