In the summer of 2016, a young man's life was cut tragically short in a violent episode that unfolded across the city of Atlanta. Homer Thirkield, a 19-year-old male, was fatally wounded on Friday, June 10, 2016. The series of events leading to his death began with a heated dispute on Sylvan Road in the southwest part of the city.
