In the late afternoon of August 16, 2020, a young man named Ke'Sean Palmer, aged 17, was fatally shot at an apartment complex in South Fulton, Georgia. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the Orchard Springs Apartments located on Oakley Industrial Boulevard. An argument between Palmer and another man escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the teenager on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
In the wake of the shooting, South Fulton police began an investigation to identify the person responsible for Palmer's death. Witnesses at the scene described the shooter as a man with dreadlocks wearing a red hoodie. The following month, investigators released surveillance photos of a person of interest that were taken at a local convenience store. The images showed a man matching the description provided by witnesses. A reward of $2,000 was offered for information that could lead to an arrest in the case.
