On July 18, 2003, the body of 19-year-old Maria Jackson was discovered in Boca Raton, Florida, behind bushes in front of a residence at 665 East Jeffrey Street. Maria had been reported missing to the Coral Springs Police Department on June 30, 2003. A few weeks later, a landlord reported a foul odor near the front area of the house.
