Chan K Razey, a 75-year-old White male, tragically died on July 12, 2023, in Naches, Washington. On that Wednesday afternoon, Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call about a possible shooting in the 1600 block of Clemens Drive around 2:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Chan Razey with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite their efforts to revive him, he succumbed to his injury at the scene.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of his 47-year-old son,
Randy Razey. During an argument, Randy admitted to shooting his father, claiming it was in self-defense. According to court documents, Randy did not call 911 after the shooting; instead, he contacted his aunt and brother. It was his aunt who then alerted the authorities.
Randy Razey was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and held in the Yakima County jail. He told investigators that the dispute began over dirty dishes left in the kitchen sink, during which he claimed his father, known as "Butch," hit him with a pistol and threatened to shoot him. In December 2024, Randy Razey was sentenced to 23 years and four months in prison for the murder of his father.
