The first shooting took place around 1:02 a.m. near Euclid Avenue and Collamer Street, where a man and a woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Approximately an hour later, at 2:05 a.m., seven individuals were shot outside a Mobil gas station at Euclid Avenue and Shaw Avenue, near Shaw High School. The third incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Elwood Road, where Erin Strozier was found critically wounded with a gunshot to the head. He succumbed to his injuries on September 7, 2024.
In the aftermath, East Cleveland Police Chief Ken Lundy announced that several suspects had been identified in connection with the shootings, particularly the incident at the Mobil gas station. Photographs of some suspects were released to the public to aid in their identification. Authorities have offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of those responsible.
