Christian Amor Aragon, a 19-year-old resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, tragically lost his life on August 24, 2024. The incident occurred during an argument over an ATV at a smoke shop near Central Avenue. Aragon had expressed interest in purchasing the ATV and took it for a test drive. When he didn't return promptly, a dispute erupted between Aragon's group and the individuals who had brought the ATV.
The situation escalated when Guillermo Muñoz Delgado, 29, allegedly pulled out a
gun and forced Aragon's friends to take him to where Aragon said the ATV had broken down. Upon finding Aragon, a physical altercation ensued between Muñoz Delgado and one of Aragon's friends over the gun. During this struggle, Muñoz Delgado allegedly fired a round, striking Aragon. Aragon, who was also reportedly armed, fired several rounds in return, hitting Muñoz Delgado. Tragically, Aragon succumbed to his injuries.
In connection with this incident, the Albuquerque Police Department arrested two suspects. Guillermo Muñoz Delgado, 29, faces charges including one count of murder with a firearm enhancement, three counts of kidnapping, and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Additionally, Trinasha McDaniel, 34, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and tampering with evidence. According to police reports, McDaniel allegedly picked up Aragon's gun and fled the scene after the shooting.
Christian Aragon was known for his athletic prowess and academic achievements. He graduated from Volcano Vista High School in 2023, where he played soccer for the Hawks. Aragon had an impressive background in sports, including BMX racing, baseball, and snowboarding. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at CNM in the Electrician program and had received Dean's List honors in his first semester.
The loss of Christian Amor Aragon has deeply affected his family and community. He is survived by his parents, six brothers, and numerous other family members. His obituary highlights his love for family and friends, as well as his various accomplishments in sports and academics.
