Thomas McIntee, a 24-year-old gas station clerk, was tragically killed on November 9, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was working at the Gate gas station on Busch Drive when he was shot during a robbery. Despite the ongoing investigation and numerous tips from the community, the case remains unsolved. McIntee, who had worked for the Gate Company for six years and had been promoted to assistant manager, was remembered as a kind and gentle individual who loved poetry and animals.
His sudden death left his family, friends, and coworkers devastated, and they continue to hope for justice.
In response to his death, McIntee’s family made a public plea for anyone with information to come forward, offering a reward of $20,000 provided by the Gate Foundation. The memorial service, held at Animal Care and Protective Services in Jacksonville, honored McIntee's love for animals, and a donation was used to help support local shelters in his name. First Coast Crime Stoppers also offered an additional reward, bringing the total to $23,000 for anyone providing information leading to an arrest.
Despite these efforts, Thomas McIntee's killers have not yet been brought to justice. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has continued to seek help from the community, hoping that someone with knowledge of the crime will step forward. McIntee’s family has struggled with their loss, describing his death as a senseless act that robbed them of a beloved son and friend. The family remains steadfast in their determination to find answers and ensure that justice is served.
