On July 11, 2016, Markus Tanner, a 23-year-old father of two, was tragically shot and killed near his home at the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Carder Street in Jacksonville, Florida. Tanner was walking down the street when someone approached him on a bicycle and shot him point-blank. He died at the scene before emergency responders could help.
