On December 3, 2017, Jontreeal Gainous, age 22, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on E Fowler Avenue after a verbal altercation between two groups of people. Gainous and three others were walking away from the scene when the suspects, who were following them in a vehicle, opened fire. Gainous received a fatal wound, while one of his companions was also injured but survived.
