In the fall of 2020, the life of Marcus Colvin, a 49-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short on the streets of Phoenix, Arizona. On the afternoon of October 9th, a confrontation unfolded near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Northern Avenue. The dispute involved Colvin, another man later identified as 22-year-old Victor Vargas, and an unidentified woman who was with Vargas.
