On October 23, 2012, in Lamoine, Maine, 50-year-old Russell Pinkham and his brother-in-law, Robert Tilden, were fatally shot outside their homes. The assailant was Robert's son, 27-year-old Leon R. Tilden. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the Tilden family compound on Mud Creek Road. Leon Tilden fled the scene, prompting a manhunt by law enforcement agencies.
