On January 3, 2001, a tragic event unfolded in the small community of Eden, Idaho, forever altering the lives of many. James Brian Moulson, a 30-year-old White/Caucasian male and a dedicated Corporal with the Jerome County Sheriff's Department, was killed in the line of duty. With four years of service under his belt, Moulson was a respected officer, a husband, and a father to a nine-month-old son.
The day began as a planned narcotics raid on the residence of a suspected drug dealer,
George Timothy Williams. Corporal Moulson, along with his partner Corporal Phillip Anderson and other members of the Jerome County Sheriff's Department, arrived at the home to serve a search warrant. The situation escalated rapidly when officers attempted to enter the house. Williams met them with gunfire, leading to a fatal shootout.
Both Corporal Moulson and Corporal Anderson, who were both wearing bulletproof vests, were struck by bullets and tragically lost their lives. The suspect, George Timothy Williams, was also shot and killed during the exchange of gunfire. The violent encounter sent shockwaves through the law enforcement community and the quiet town, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved the fallen officers.
