On October 16, 2012, 49-year-old Brian Barton Geddes was fatally shot in his Garden City, Idaho, home. The perpetrator, 21-year-old Jordan Marie Shaver, had been residing with Geddes after he offered her assistance following an attack by her boyfriend. During their cohabitation, Shaver shot Geddes in the back of the head with a stolen handgun, killing him instantly. She then concealed his body in a comforter and hid it in the crawlspace beneath the house.
