On May 12, 2023, 22-year-old Elias "Suge" Albert-Spencer was found deceased near a residence on Thunder Valley Drive, north of Lapwai, Idaho. Responding to a report of gunshots at 4:43 a.m., Nez Perce Tribal Police discovered his body in the street. The incident was investigated as a homicide by both the tribal police and the FBI.
