In the quiet solitude of Somerset, Vermont, a somber discovery was made on July 31, 2021. The body of 73-year-old Joseph Schoenig, a Caucasian male from Bennington, was found inside his vehicle in a parking area at the Somerset Reservoir. Schoenig had been reported missing to the Bennington Police Department on July 19, sparking concern among his family and community. His disappearance initiated a search that would ultimately conclude with this unfortunate finding.
