In the winter of 2006, the life of a young Washington, D.C. woman was tragically cut short in a burst of violence that remains unresolved to this day. Chartate Blyther, a 28-year-old female, was discovered on the evening of Wednesday, January 18, 2006, in the 600 block of Edgewood Street NE. She had been shot multiple times in the head, a grim end to a life that had seen her navigate both biological and adoptive family structures.
