On November 22, 2014, a tragic shooting occurred in Sisseton, South Dakota, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including 31-year-old Vernon Renville Jr. The incident took place at a residence on 4th Avenue East, where a Sisseton Police Officer, while on regular patrol, discovered a vehicle idling in the driveway with its doors open and an individual lying on the ground near the driver's door.
