On November 2, 2009, Nora Amaya, a 38-year-old restaurant owner, was found dead in her apartment at 3636 16th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. Police received a call around 9:11 PM reporting an unconscious person. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Nora Amaya had been strangled.
