On November 2, 2009, Nora Amaya, a 38-year-old restaurant owner, was found dead in her apartment at 3636 16th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. Police received a call around 9:11 PM reporting an unconscious person. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Nora Amaya had been strangled. The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch has continued to investigate the case, but as of now, the crime remains unsolved.
