On July 13, 2018, 27-year-old Charity Ne'Cale Fennell from Decatur, Alabama, was fatally shot in Huntsville. She had arranged to meet 17-year-old Hassan Erskine and 18-year-old Terran Burt, whom she had connected with through social media, for a drug transaction in front of a vacant house on Williamsburg Drive. Shortly after their meeting around 8 p.m., Fennell was shot and sustained life-threatening injuries. She succumbed to her injuries the following day.
