On April 11, 2010, at approximately 2:00 am, 25-year-old Barbara Lateya Smith was found dead in the parking lot of the 3000 block of 30th Street, SE, Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to her death. Barbara was discovered in an isolated area of a parking lot, making the gathering of immediate witness accounts challenging for investigators.
