On June 10, 2019, 18-year-old Elexis Lashelle McCool was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incident occurred while she was driving with a 14-year-old boy and his 15-year-old brother. The younger teen was reportedly handling a firearm and firing out of the car window when a bullet struck McCool through the driver's seat.
