On November 21, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska, 28-year-old Randy Ropati was fatally shot in his Mountain View neighborhood apartment. At approximately 10:30 a.m., Al Apaola Leafa Jr. entered Ropati's residence and, without provocation, shot him five times with a .357 revolver. Leafa then left the scene.
