It was Thursday, May 9, 2019, in the 800 block of Xenia Street, Southeast, when police received calls reporting the gunfire around 5:16 p.m. Arriving at the scene in the Washington Highlands neighborhood, officers discovered a man lying unconscious on the sidewalk, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
