On February 11, 2023, 45-year-old Shonte "Tae" Shannel Hudson was fatally shot during an altercation at a party on Melton Street in Montevallo, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:41 p.m., when Hudson attempted to intervene in a dispute between 33-year-old Corey Antwon Broadnax and Broadnax's estranged wife. In response, Broadnax shot Hudson multiple times. Hudson was transported to Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, where he succumbed to his injuries.
