In the early morning hours of November 12, 2022, the life of 26-year-old Don Andre Sanders Jr. was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Alpine, Alabama. Deputies from the Talladega County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Swain Lane at approximately 2:30 a.m., where they discovered Sanders with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the death of the male victim was immediately taken over by the Talladega County Sheriff's Office, who have since been treating it as a homicide. In an effort to generate leads and bring those responsible to justice, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers announced a $1,000 cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest. Despite these efforts and the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Don Andre Sanders, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains an active and open investigation, with law enforcement continuing to appeal to the public for any information that may help solve this crime.
Don Andre Sanders was a graduate of Talladega County Central High School, class of 2015, and was a dedicated employee at Nemak of Sylacauga. Known for his outgoing and humorous personality, he was a beloved figure among his friends and family, often being the source of laughter and joy. He is survived by his wife, Kamocia B. Sanders, and his daughter, Hazel Brook Peterson. A celebration of his life was held on November 19, 2022, with his interment at St. Campbell Baptist Church Cemetery in his hometown of Alpine. The community continues to mourn his loss as they await answers and justice in his untimely death.
