On May 22, 2022, in Riverside, Alabama, 16-year-old Samantha Vance was tragically killed in an apparent murder-suicide orchestrated by her father, 54-year-old William Huntoon Vance. Authorities responded to a call about a suicidal individual at the Vance residence on Depot Street around 9:47 a.m. Upon arrival, they encountered William Vance armed with a handgun; he fatally shot himself as deputies approached.
