On April 10, 2022, in Clanton, Alabama, 38-year-old Dante Gervaise Milliner was involved in a verbal altercation on First Avenue North. The dispute escalated, resulting in Milliner being shot in the face. Emergency responders transported him to the Shelby County Airport, from where he was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Despite medical efforts, Milliner succumbed to his injuries on April 11 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
