In the spring of 2022, the life of 38-year-old Dante Gervaise Millner, a Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in his lifelong hometown of Clanton, Alabama. On the evening of April 10th, an argument escalated into violence on First Avenue North. Responding to reports of gunfire, Clanton police and Chilton County Sheriff's deputies discovered Millner lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his face.
Emergency responders acted quickly, transporting him by ambulance to Shelby County Airport, from where he was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for advanced medical care. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Dante Millner succumbed to his injuries at approximately 2:30 p.m. on April 11, 2022. His death left a void in the community where he was known for his big heart and infectious smile. A 2002 graduate of Chilton County High School, he had been a dedicated employee at Stewart Signs for 13 years and was a devoted father to his three sons, whom he lovingly referred to as the "Big 3."
The Clanton Police Department swiftly identified a suspect in the fatal shooting. With the assistance of the Chilton County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, 28-year-old Cordarious Glover was arrested without incident in North Chilton County on April 14, 2022. Glover was subsequently charged with murder. Following his arrest, his bond was revoked, and he remained in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
